McCarthy looked really good at the end of last year and I'm wondering if he's going to be able to find an opening in Sox starting rotation?

McCarthy definately earned his way into the rotation next year. He filled in well and ate up some good innings when their guys went down. They're gonna have to find a place for him.

I sure hope so since he went over his innings to qualify for a rookie. No longer a minor leaguer I'm hoping him and Anthony Reyes will provide me with some cheap SP.

If El Duque is a FA, you would have to think he'll be gone so Mccarthy can get in the rotation.

Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, Garland, McCarthy...I'd say he fills out the rotation. Also, I'd think it may be in the White Sox's best interest to trade Contreras while the getting in good.

oh, i dunno... i mean, there was a reason the yanks went out and blew all that cash on him in the first place, no? perhaps it just took him a few years to get used to the majors. :-)

i believe el duque is signed through next season. he looked awesome in relief during the playoffs, i hope they use him in that role and make mccarthy their 5th starter.

It might be smart of them to trade one of their names for a stud hitter. Particularly if Konerko goes, though i doubt that.

It should be interesting to see what happens with Garland since he had such a good year this year.
