He would spend enough money to get whatever franchise he bought into the winning ways. However more likely than not Cuban's team would go the path of the some big market teams, (I just can't see him having the patience to build a soild farm system, and he would overspend on every midlevel free agent). These teams end up always around .500. but hey, that is not so bad; better than the path of the stingy royals.

I think Selig should get Cuban into some city if at all possible. An invovled owner is all some struggling franchises need.

I could see Cuban coming into Pittsburgh and spending more money. It could atleast help to make them more competitive. They have some pretty good young pitching and if they could only match that with some solid bats.... :-?

I'd love to see Cuban own a baseball team. Then we'd have at least one owner pointing out the obvious stupidity of some things (IE: Tie in the All-Star game) without worrying about being fined. ;-D

Shame the Pirates don't want to sell. :-/

Actually I think the Pirates are owned by a couple of corporations who are interested in only the bottom line.

And oddly enough, the group that owns the Pirates also owns newspapers. Apparently, that industry is run by stingy bastards.

Isn't there a team in Washington for sale right now? Why doesn't Cuban just buy that team. It will make more money than the Pirates anyway.

I think Cuban's from Pittsburgh and he partly wants to buy the team to prevent them from leaving the city.

That would make sense. This move would definitely revitalize the Pirates, which would help a lot.

I personally think baseball can use more big-name proven owners, such as Cuban.
