The way it's looking right now, T. Gordon wants to close meaning a bad pin will get worse. I sugest that the yankees take a look at these guys to replace him:

B.J. Ryan he will be ideal because he can take over once Rivera retires.

Ugueth Urbina has great stuff.

Kyle Farnsworth man how great would that be he throws in the 90's and is just nasty.

Jose Mesa short tearm contract only max 2 years

Julian Tavarez I love him but, I'am not sold but his amongs the best options avalible.

Octavio Dotel like Urbina can be great he did it for Houston I think he can get back to his old self that would be great but like Mesa short term contract only.

Please buy out Tanyon Sturtze contract I cant take him anymore.

It's Bull PEN, not pin.

Agreed. Ryan is a must-get.

Ugueth Urbina has great stuff.

Doesn't appeal to me a whole lot and wouldn't come to NY anyway.

Kyle Farnsworth man how great would that be he throws in the 90's and is just nasty.

Apparently you missed the playoffs? This guy is a choke artist.

Jose Mesa short tearm contract only max 2 years

No way.

Julian Tavarez I love him but, I'am not sold but his amongs the best options avalible.

Not an awful option, but not great either.

Octavio Dotel like Urbina can be great he did it for Houston I think he can get back to his old self that would be great but like Mesa short term contract only.

Unless they pay him nothing, I don't think I'd take the chance. He's coming off of major arm surgery and nobody knows what he has. He sucked in Oakland as well. Only as a cheap flier.

Please buy out Tanyon Sturtze contract I cant take him anymore.

Certainly not as a 7th inning man. I can deal with him as a mopup guy though.

Come on. WIth Clueless Brian leading the charge?...the rumor has it he wants Farnsworth not Ryan to replace Gordon. I can see it now...Matsui is allowed to walk and we end up with Giles who promptly pulls a RonDL/Womack...Gordon goes for Farnsworth who does a Dotel...we end up with Olerud replacing Tino to see which aging washed up 1b is worse...we end up with Bubba Crosby starting in CF backup up by an aging Bernie...and they both promptly hits 225...And we have RJ, Moose, Pavano and Wrigth all on the DL by MAy 06 as a shocked Cashman can't figure out how all 4 of these stud SPs get hurt.

And then we will see those STILL calling Clueless Cashman a genius and blaming George for this.

Farnsworth blew one playoff game...big whoop!

Rivera blew two games in the ALCS last season and game 7 of the 2001 World Series...does that make him a choke artist?

I wouldn't mind having his fastball in the pen, but you definitely have some questions in big spots with him. He had a bad game against Houston in 2005, and a REALLY bad series in 2003 against the Marlins. But I do think he'd be an improvement over Gordon.

Octavio Dotel like Urbina can be great he did it for Houston I think he can get back to his old self that would be great but like Mesa short term contract only.

I'm curious to see what kind of a contract he gets. I feel like someone out there will probably sign him and overpay, but if not, he might be worth a look. If Cashman is serious about holding down the payroll a little more than in the past, this might be a cheap option who could perform.

Please buy out Tanyon Sturtze contract I cant take him anymore.

Ditto. He's getting up in years, but if they don't misuse him the way Torre did earlier in 2005, he might still be able to contribute.

Anybody else think they should go get Hoffman and make him a setup man for Mo? Since he's already second fiddle anyway? :-D ;-D

I should also add that the Yanks should stay far, far away from Urbina until he gets over his apparent love of machetes. ;-7

Since Cashman is so clueless and you are obviously God, why don't you tell us what you'd do if you were GM. All you do is piss and moan when deals don't work out and you claim to have known all along that they were awful.

What would you do, oh wise and powerful TheYanks04?

Take a look at the rings on his finger. That should tell you the answer to your question. ;-)

Or if that doesn't do it for you, check out some postseason closer stats. I hear he did pretty good. ;-D

I like Farnsworth.

Sad to hear that Ryan signed w/ the Jays... he would be a great set up to Mo, then move into the closer spot in another few years. (I know, I know he is 30)
