Yeah, Townsend is kind of disappointing...I was thrilled when the D-rays announced he'd be playing at my home minor league team the Renegades. Unfortunately, he didn't pitch often, and when he did it wasn't pretty...which actually led my friends and I to wonder if he was injured. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed that nobody noticed that he was hurt. I was told by a few people in the "know" that he's somewhat full of himself and alienated himself from the rest of the team because he felt that he shouldn't have started so low in the system (D-rays send mostly pitching prospects that they draft in the later rounds to the Renegades...so Townsend was a rather huge suprise). Sorry if this is sort of off-topic....

If I was the Rays I would see what I could do tradewise but I wouldn't trade Delmon for Zito. I also wouldn't touch Burnett or Millwood this offseason. I think they will both be overpaid. Hope for a trade DRays fans.... Hope for a trade

That one seems to make a lot more sense than Young for Zito (though A's fans are always allowed to dream).

They aren't going anywhere without a pitching upgrade. I have to think Huff, Gomes and Gaithright are available right now for some decent pitching.

I'd give up a good pitching prospect for Gomes. Five years before free agency, (or four i don't know how much time he was 40 man roster in 2004) and a better SLG% than Hideki Matsui. He will be solid player for a long while.
