I'm wondering, does everyone who is ranking Bay so highly expect him to repeat his stolen base numbers? To me, that total came out of nowhere! You need to ask yourself whether Jim Tracy is going to give him the green light or not.
With 21 steals in 22 attempts....I would be sending him.

Not even.
Victor's fantasy stock actually went down last season. Two catchers hit more homeruns than Martinez, and 12th place for homeruns only hit six less.
His final 5x5 Yahoo! Rank (the good one) was 160.
if he snifs the top eight rounds.
That's the earliest anybody should think about taking him if the draft is really messed up, or if you have a certain strategy in plan.
I'd take him rounds 5-6. If he fell passed the 8th I'd be shocked.
Well, he's not going to fall to the eighth, and that's fine. The position scarcity strategy doesn't work unless there's a large gap between players. Martinez hardly has a gap.
Last year, I took AJ Pierzynski in a bunch of leagues in the last round and he was great.

That seemed to generate some debate. I dont think I could take a pitcher in the 12. I might be a little biased after using good picks on Sheets and Halliday last season. Does Young or Tejada fit into anyones 12?
the only sp who should go in the 1st is santana. he's the best sp in the majors, is young, consistent, and healthy. in redraft leagues i think he deserves to go anywhere from 4th to pick overall.

Theres no other catchers that can match him for power and average. Despite having a bad 1st half this season he was still in the top 3 for production.
Victor Martinez at 12? No way would I personally take him there. You're going off potential and what he could do. I'd much rather have a guy like Abreu, Sheff, D Lee instead. Just my opinion though.

Scratch my Martinez idea, it seams like a bad one. I like Sheffs numbers but I just don't trust his age. Older players like Finley and Johnson seem too drop in performance quickly.
Does anyone else see a distinct drop off in talent after these 10? To me it seems like these players are a level above going into next years draft. An argument can be made for Abreu, but he was only a force for about a month of the season, after that he was average. Would you add anyone else to this group?
