Damon will want too much over too long relative to his age, IMO. I think the prospect of Furcal and Cedeno as a long-term DP combo and 1-2 punch at the top of the order is too good to pass up.

I would like to see something like that happen...but the IF for the Cubbies is getting a little full...With Ramirez, Walker, Nomar, Perez and Cedeno all looking for a spot something will have to happen before Furcal can be put in the mix...

2/5 of those players (Nomar, Neifi) are free agents, so I don't see the problem.

In my perfect world, Walker is the full-time 2B this year with Cedeno playing Niefi's role and Neifi and Nomar gone.
I think Patterson will be available towards the end of the draft. He'll be drafted in most every league, but not too early. With all the uncertainty surrounding him, many will choose to hold off, so he should be around till closer to the end. Not a flier, but you won't have to use a super-valuable draft pick. I suppose it depends on what happens to him this offseason.
Honestly, I'd expect the same thing from Patterson that he has done his entire career. Be an unconsistent hack of a talented player. It's sad when you see such skill go wasted like it will on him, but he never learns or makes progress... he is the same ol' Patterson he was when he first came up.
