Maybe they'll learn to spend some money on pitching (not named Milton)! O:-)

Though I don't like Zito....he'd be a lot better than most junk we toss out there. The main reason I don't want him, however, is because we would have too many lefties in the rotation.

Claussen, Milton, and Zito. 3/5 lefties?

I would like to have an ace brought in, followed by Harang, then Milton, Claussen, and Ortiz if he insists on starting.

Follow that with a decent setup and closer (not David Weathers).

So basically we need an ace and a closer. I think I'm being too optmistic, I doubt we bring both in.

You guys have enough in the outfield to bring in an ace via trade. As for the closer, you never know when there's another Huston Street or Bobby Jenks around the corner....

I still have confidence in Ryan Wagner...he has too much pure talent to be a total bust. However I don't have confidence in him being a successful closer this year....probably setup man for now.

So either hope for a diamond in the rough closer (not weathers) or sign someone to a one year deal (Percival maybe, isn't he a FA?).

Then like you said, trade an OFer for an ace and manage to hold on to the rest of the offense. At that point, I would feel pretty good about our chances.
