And I just read a little while ago that he'd re-signed. :-?

I wonder who's going to take over...

I can't believe this. I really thought he would be around for many many years. I'm just stunned. This sucks.

Only the Red Sox :-/

I blame Lucchino and Henry. They should have never let it get to this point. I heard Sabean's name thrown around earlier but I doubt they can get him. Looks like it's either Hunsicker, DePodesta or some hotshot up-and-comer.

Just hope the new guy can be half of what Theo was.

I can dream, can't I?
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Me thinks that Lucchino was the guy that totally screwed this situation. That report states that there was too much inside talk in the Globe news reports not too be from an insider, so Theo just bolted. What a freakin mess! Another thing...this wasn't about money. It was about power, and after Theo engineered the WS, he felt comfortable with his experience and knowledge. Basically, what I'm saying is the deciding factor was how much power Theo would have.

Also, another thing to consider is that Theo has built a farm system that now is a Top 10 system...plenty of power arms, and hitters like Hanley, Pedroia, and even David Murphy.

Double ugh!

I HATE LARRY LUCCHINO!@!@!@!!!!!!!

:-t :-t :-t

Best guess on future GM is Theo's assistant Jed Hoyer....in the same mold as Josh Byrnes

This is one of the worst days in Red Sox history. How can u let a young, talented GM walk away without offering the power and the money. Give him Billy Beane money that u were about to shell out for him a couple of yrs ago. This is truly disgraceful. Theo, the best of luck, Lucchino should be gone not u. Im still in shock.
