The director is a Japanese dude who is famous (notorious?) for his unbelievably graphic, gruesome films. I've never seen any, but I did see about a 60-second trailer for one of his movies, and I am not exaggerating when I say I thought I was going to hurl.
Surprised Faces of Death and Saw/Saw II haven't been mentioned yet.
I haven't seen Saw II, but I am looking forward to seeing it.
Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th were the two big ones I grew up watching.
Still waiting on Freddy Vs. Jason 2 though!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
I love the Dawn of the Dead remake and it does have some awesome bonus features on the DVD. One of my favorite parts is probably when they were shooting zombie celebrities on the rooftop. I just picked up Night of the Living Dead for $8 on DVD yesterday and will probably watch it either tonight or tomorrow. I also have Shaun of the Dead, which is a funny one.
Saw is nearing the top of my list and I really thought it was thought out well. I'm seeing Saw II tomorrow (planned on Sunday but fell through) and from what I heard, it's more in depth and better overall than the first one. I also heard that it's pretty twisted stuff and it's one of those movies that you know something's gonna happen but have no idea what it is. That clown mask thing is pretty damn freaky though and definitely something I wouldn't want to see in a dark room.
I didn't like Freddy vs. Jason that much at all. It had pretty cool effects and plot, but it turned me off when they were in the boiler room and pinball noises played... I thought that was a little corny. Nightmare on Elm Street is a good one though, I like that series more than the Halloween ones.

No love for the Chestbursters from Alien/Aliens? Definitely some class A gore right there And unlike most of the movies mentioned, they didn't suck in terms of story and acting

Eh, there's blood, gore, and a psycho, so that counts as horror for me.
