yea i agree it will be interesting, as i am still shocked they did not promote from within especially with all the younguns coming up to pitch next year.....

Surprising but interesting. He might be better for the younger pitchers than Mazzone. Some of the younger hurlers complained that Leo Mazzone never had time for them and spent his entire time with the big guys like Hudson and Smoltz....We'll see what happens....

My biggest concern is the bullpen which faltered way too often last year. I think McDowell will have a lot of work with these young guns.

I think where we will miss Leo the most is the reclamation project pitchers that the Braves invested in each off season.

Perhaps this youth movement of last year is going to carry into this year with the pitching staff..... if so McDowell just might be better suited for the task.

No doubt we will miss Leo - but lets hope he was thier long enough that enough residue remains with the current staff.

I am not as worried as most about Leo not being there .... the Braves have always landed on thier feet each off season for a reason and that one reason alone is not Leo Mazzone entirely.

Bottomline -- The Braves are still well managed on the field and off.
