well, i'll caveat my stance on b. giles-to-the-braves with this: if the braves trade away some of their young "depth" in the OF (like langerhans or kelly johnson) for some cheap pitching, it's a possibility.
but i just don't see the braves digging deap in to their pocketbook (because this is surely what it will take) to bring in brian when they have far cheaper options existing and holes remain in the starting rotation and bullpin.
i mean, at this point, the corner OF is probably behind only 3B and C in terms of "positions that least need to be addressed"
edit: which of course does not mean i wouldn't LOVE to see brian giles playing for the braves. the man is a great ball player, and a patient bat like his would surely help come playoff time.

He'd be a great addition at RF for the Jays, but I have a feeling he will sign in Atlanta. The Jays could certainly pay him the necessary cash (which looks like it could be over 10 million), but I'm not sure he would want to come to the Jays when he could go to a winning team every year like Atlanta or St. Louis.
seriously, three people have now mentioned expectations for brian joining the braves. are there rumors to that effect making their way around the talk radio circuit? because it just strikes me as a bad fit, especially given that st. louis, NYM, and the cubs would all make better fits.

I've been hearing this for quite some time. It was some time near the beginning of the season though.

Giles could be a good possibility... he'd be nice to plug in LF. The bullpen isn't in as bad of shape as it seems. I think it's very possible to get both Giles and Farnsworth. Farns' postseason blowup might lower his pricetag.
