Who'll be the hottest fantasy prospect when next year's drafts roll around? More likely than not, it will be Tampa Bay's Delmon Young, the #1 overall pick of the 2003 draft.
Will Young be worth drafting? What sort of player could he turn into a few years down the road? Denny Foster analyzes Young's minor league statistics and offers his thoughts and conclusions on this very intriguing player.
It might be October, but it's never too early to get a head start on the upcoming fantasy campaign... Enjoy!
I meant in the last 5-6 years really, not really for his career. Bonds has grown about 2x the size he was in his rookie season...thats more what I was getting at. The comparison meant more to aim toward A.Jones.

Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
My question (which I posted elsewhere on this site, too) is do I give up Soriano to get him?
You mentioned "do whatever it takes" to get him. Does this include giving up one of the very few players you noted as him being most favorably comparable to? Your article does a great job of articulating the potential paths his career could take. If it goes the route of Vlad, I'm happy. If it goes along the lines of Andruw Jones, I suppose since I'm getting younger in the process, I view it as a win, too, but barely (definitely losing out in the SB category). If he ends uyp a Corey Patterson type, I'm pretty much SOL and I'll be kicking myself for years. Would you pull the trigger?
For reference, I'm also giving up Bartolo Colon in the deal, but my staff is deep enough it's pretty much a moot point. I have OF's enough where I can remain competitive this year even if Delmon gets no more than a cup-o-coffee, but starting next year I need him! And I'm not at all concerned about the recent suspension (from a fantasy standpoint....from a game and personal perspective, I certainly hope he straightens up!!)

I'd be concerned. If he misses the rest of the year (which is possible), or even 100 games, there's a chance he will not be in the majors next year.
I'd wait and see what the suspension is going to be before making a move, if he's got to produce for you next season.

I agree. This guy's stock has plummetted in the past day and a half, and granted, it could jump back up; but one must be very cautious at this point with Delmon (the idiot )
