Tribune Co. might be selling?

Postby Pogotheostrich » Tue Oct 25, 2005 2:05 pm

Just a rumor but I think it would be great for the Cubs.
With its stock losing a quarter of its worth in the last year, Tribune Co. may be considering a sale of non-core assets such as the Cubs.

Somehow I don't see Selig letting that happen.

if all the vast multitude of "ifs" come to pass (thats a lot of "ifs") and Selig is the only thing keeping Cuban from buying the Cubs, that will be just another reason why i strongly dislike Selig

i think cuban would be a good owner for a small market team. he wanted in on pittsburgh but the pitts owners didnt want to sell. let him take over KC, Cincy or some team like that. you cant spend your way to the world series, but you can spend your way out of last place, and cuban will spend some money.
