Anybody have some thoughts on Zimmerman? ILong term? 2006?

Long term I think he is going to be really good but for 2006 I wouldn't stick too much stock in him. The Nats have Castilla in front of him at 3rd (and he's making a good amount of money so I don't see him sitting). There was talk of him switching to SS but the Nats have Guzman there who was horrible last year but is still getting 4 mil a year. I would say that the Nats will probably send Zim down to double or triple A (possibly to get some defensive work at SS) and once he has some more experience he could possibly be up in Sept. Unless he knocks the cover off the ball in ST and unseats one of the veterans in front of him I don't see him having much short term potential for next year.

I wish he played in a different ball park but I think he'll be a great player in a year or two. Getting called up after a month of Minor League ball is pretty good no matter what team you're on
