Now that the Yanks seem to have targeted him as Mel's replacement, anyone have any insight as to what kind of pitching coach he would make if hired? Obviously a very talented player in his day, but his coaching resume is about as thin as it gets. I read somewhere that Torre has endorsed Guidry, which gives me some confidence in the choice, since Torre wouldn't do that lightly, I think. But I really don't know much about Guidry beyond his on-field accomplshments.
