As the season winds down, I was wondering if any other cafe members joined into the Baseball Prospectus contest known as HACKING MASS. For those who don't know about it, this is an annual contest where you try to pick the worst possible team. Part of the difficulty is that guys who stink get replaced, so you need players that stink, but continue to play!

This year I did the best I ever have, finishing 34th out of 1,859 entries.

I love the 'no rockies pitchers' rule myself. Can't beat the Milton and Ortiz rotation for 'paid so much they can't be dropped' value either.

Can't believe that no team managed to get into the top ten with a Juan Pierre sleeper pick though.

Never done this for baseball, but I did a bloopers league once for football. INT, sacks, fumbles all counted big. TD's and yards counted against you. David Carr was money. ;-D

good job agnes... I sucked it up, being outside of the top 1000 the entire time...though I made the top 50 (pre-playoffs) for predictatron...

i woulda had sosa as a big sleeper pick... his injury would have soured things, though. >_<

still, he'll probably play somewhere next year. not a bad guy to have around in such a league. ;-D
