Derrek Lee Vs. Lance Berkman

So realistically, what do you think Derrek Lee will do next year? I'm a little skeptical to be honest. Best this year, he'd never hit anywhere close to .300 or had an OPS near .900. And then this happens? Either Derrek Lee found something that he'd been missing before or he simply caught lightning in a bottle for an extended period and then hit .287 post All Star with 19 homers, which would still set a career high pace but would be more in line with what he's used to.

I really am boggled that this mediocre first baseman all of a sudden KILLS IT this year. I'm not sold

yes, he did slow down, but 19 homers in the 2nd half is not bad at all, it was the RBI's that were killing his owners because no one was on base. He should have at least 20-25 more RBI's if the guys in front didn't suck getting on base.

I was wondering when/if someone would bring up Lee's previous few years. I feel the same way about him. He always has been a middle-of-the-pack 1B at best, perhaps getting a little bump in value due to the steals, of course a rarity for the position. He's going to be SUPER over-valued next year and I for one will need to see at least one more season of these type of numbers before I draft him in the first or second round. And I can't seriously see him getting out of the second round in any draft.
