Anyone able to tell me about this kid?

It's Anibal Sanchez and he had a great year this season. Started in High A ball then was moved up to AA in July. Started off 3-1 but lost 4 straight games to end the season. His season ended early because of arm problems.

AA Stats: 3-5, 3.45 ERA, 63/16 K/BB

He's a good sleeper in a minor league draft ;-D

He's already owned in my league, but I'm looking to trade for him. How far away from the majors is he?

He'll probably get a late call-up in 2007 and be in the rotation in 08

Good call on Sanchez Morrison. He's a solid s;eeper who has the capability to close because of that phenomenal K/BB ratio.

Another guy who is worth taking a look at is Jon Lester. He is another up and comer in the Sox system, and is probably looking at a late call-up in 2006, with a regular spot in the rotation in 07...

Between Hansen, Sanchez and Lester it looks like the Sox have some arms to look forward to over the next couple of years.

Maybe I'm a homer but I think the Red Sox farm system is very underrated. Sanchez, Lester, Hansen and watch out for Jesus Delgado. He's got a 97 mph FB but he needs a lot of work on his curve/change. Most likely a setup man down the road.

Jacoby Ellsbury, Brandon Moss, David Murphy, Jed Lowrie all could become solid hitters down the road. Plus Pedroia and Ramirez too.

Definitely better than what we had with Duquette running the show

FYI: Sanchez is probably going to find his home some where else. Sanchez is almost always thrown into trade disscusions because Paplebon and Lester are higher rated; the BoSox are more willing to trade someone who is farther away and seem to regard Sanchez as expendible. This means that Sanchez will likely get a shot in the Show sooner.

I thought Anibal was traded to Florida in the Beckett deal. Maybe not? You might want to look into that.
