I posted a thread in the suggestion box about this and also a possibly expanded version where we could do hitters as well and maybe get a solid profile and scouting report for as many players as possible with input from cafe members :-°

Nice idea, I PM'd Madison to see what he thinks.

I remember that there is actually a website that tries to do the same thing but for defense - it asks for fans of the teams to rate the players in terms of defensive ability across a number of categories. Would be nice to have some data on this site though....more resources!!

I have a book by Rob Neyer and Bill James called The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers : An Historical Compendium of Pitching, Pitchers, and Pitches. It has biographies on certain pitchers that changed the game. It goes through certain pitches and has small biographicals on many old and modern day pitches. These all state what pitches the pitcher threw and what his main pitch was. Its an entertaining read if interested in pitchers and their success with certain pitches.

The "pitchers---what pitches do they throw?" isn't a bad idea at all. Most likely location for something like this would be the team forums. Each team's fans could put it together, and then maybe made into a sticky for future reference without cluttering up any of the other forums. ;-D

I was going to post the same thing. ;-D I haven't had much time to get into it yet, but I really like it so far. It's pretty interesting and, as far as I know, pretty accurate. ;-D

Playing MVP 2005 is actually what started me thinking about this. I figured it seemed like it would be a great resource to have, just one more weapon for pre-draft prep. The MVP lists are pretty good (I think) but I'm not sure they're 100% accurate. I love the idea of starting such a resource at the Cafe. I sure didn't expect this snowball effect!!
