I have to root for Houston, but only because of Pettitte.
not clemens??????
I don't really care that much about Clemens. I did not like the way he left the team with his "retirement," but I certainly don't have a dislike for him. I appreciate everything he did in NY (being at The Stadium for his 300th win is one of my favorite baseball memories), but I can't say I go out of my way to root for him too much now. Him winning is perfectly fine with me and he deserves it, but the guy I care about is Pettitte and I hope, for him, the Astros win.
I like the Stro's in six. It seems like this is the sentimental pick (except in Chicago). I like Clemens and I've always found Bagwell and Biggio to be guys you can feel good about pulling for. The Astro's really are a class organization and it would be great to see this group of guys do it. I really don't have anything against the Sox, but to me there just isn't any player or players that are particularly likeable. So I want the Stro's to win, but I also think they will win because......they have better all-around starting pitching, they have a better (although not deeper) bullpen, they're better offensively (although perhaps just barely) and I think they play better defense and have higher-quality bench options.
Who are Cubs fans rooting for?

Rooting for the Astros is cool, but how can you be rooting for the Astros based on Pettitte? He's won a bunch before. The real reason you should be rooting for the 'Stros is Bagwell and Biggio.
I'm not sure how anyone could not give Chicago a chance in this series. They have a better lineup, homefield advantage and equal starting pitching (that 4th starter is huge boost).
It's going to be a great series. I think it's definately going 7 games. I'll be rooting for Houston but I would not be surprised in the least if Chicago were to take it.
Houston's pitching will shut down the Sox. It doesn't matter that the Sox have good pitching because Houston doesn't rely on offense anyway. If they get three or four runs that's plenty!
