Ah, cause they didnt perform up to expectations...isnt that quite a bit of management? Why should Torre be different than the rest of the MLB. When players dont play to expectation, managers get fired. Why should he be different?

What I found more shocking than Andrew being 1st "which I agree with" is Lee being ranked ahead of Pujols for 2nd.

D Lee lead the majors in the following

OPS
Runs Created
RC/27
Vorp

2nd in Win Shares

He was easy player of year.

I can't say that I am shocked that you are all sqaubling over the Yankees, but the stupidiest name on this list is clearly ..

C: Paul Lo Duca, Marlins

Yeah, apparently they do.

Awfully sad isn't it?

I mean, a .263 Average and bad OBP to boot? I guess that's why they're playing the game, and not evaluating it in the FO.

Exactly. I mean, what's the opinion of the people that actually play the game worth? Who asked them? How are they qualified to decide who the best baseball player is?

Torre is blatantly undeserving of a Top 3 AL MoY Award this year. Anybody thinking he is is succombing to homerism or is simply fooling themselves. I hardly think he's the worst AL Manager, but he hasn't been better than middle of the road for the past half decade. I'm not a believer that a monkey in a NY ballcap could manage the Yankees, but I don't think Torre did anything spectacular this year; anything worthy of a Top 3 AL MoY recognition. The team was supposed to win the World Series. They squaked by to win the AL East, only to be brushed off in the opening round of the playoffs. Like I said, he shouldn't be bashed for his effort in 2005, I just don't see the point in overly praising him for the Yankees performance, either.

Only because they happened to say what you want them to say do you agree with them.
