Browsing MLB and ESPN, i have come across some totally crazy stuff. Amazing that people out there believe this stuff. These are quotes, or thread devoted too.
Nolan Ryan was the best pitcher ever.
Eckstein is a better ss then Jeter.
Giambi, Chavez, Berkman are all better then Clemente was.
Omar and Kendall might make the HOF.
Arod is a choke artist. Wait a minute, that's said here. Ok, scratch that one.

I could agree with the statement that Nolan Ryan was the best strikeout pitcher, but best overall, no.
Clemente was one of a kind, career cut short because of that tragic accident. He was a 5 tool star who could have made an even bigger legacy for himself had he been able to play longer.

At their salaries, I'd take Eck over Jeter. I don't think he's better than Jeter, but it's a lot closer than most people think. And if Ozzie Smith deserves to be in the HOF, then Omar deserves it as well.
If Ozzie Smith belongs in the hall, so does every player with an OPS over 650...i.e., just about everyone.
Besides, whenever you need a laugh, just break out A-Choke's greatest post-season momenets...very short film indeed...almost as short as Kenny Rogers'.
And if we want some laughs, what happened to all those Javy Vazquez lovers that were around in March who adamantly professed how the Yanks should stick with Javy rather than trade for RJ because Javy was gong to be an ace and is young....been very very quiet since the 4.50 ERA in the NL West got posted.

How do you figure? Omar was a good glove man, but wasn't Ozzie, or close to it. Omar will be lucky to get 5% to stay on ballot. I think he won't get that.
Yanks04, can you go one post without a A choke comment?

How is Chavvy not a top 5 3B in real baseball? Fantasy-wise I agree, but not in real life.
.269/.329/.466/.796; 27 HR, 101 RBI
Simply put: he's overrated. He's never had an OPS over 900. (Closest he got is .898, which is pretty good, but not as much of a stud as he's made out to be. Walks were cut in half this year, what's up with that?
I'll give you 5 3Bs that I'd take over Chavez, off the top of my head:
