GREs

Postby WharfRat » Mon Oct 17, 2005 6:22 pm

I'm signing up to take the GRE general test in a few months, probably in January sometime. I'm not super worried, but has anybody taken them who can offer any advice? Any study guides that you thought were particularly helpful or anything? Like I said, I'm not super worried as I'm a pretty good tester, but I'd like to be as prepared as possible.

While I didn't take the GREs, I did take the Praxis I Series, the LAST and ATS-W, which are equivalents for the teaching field. My recommendation would be to get yourself a book (I got one by Kaplan), if for no other reason than to familiarize yourself with the style of questions asked, and tips on exactly what types of answers they are looking for. It helped me finish in the top 10% state-wide when I took my exams.

Good luck! ;-D

My first one was DCSE (Dell Certified Systems Expert).

It was very easy since you could reference the website during the tests. It's more of a test to see if you can find relevant info than actually memorizing anything.

Next I'm getting my MCDST and then A+. Not sure after that.
