What do the Angels do this offseason?

Halo, I don't know for sure (because, to many beers to look for it) but wasn't Escobar signed about a month before Colon to 3 yrs? That would make 2007 the contract year. And as it stands, I personally like him in the rotation.
Lackey I think is a must re-sign. I betting, now that he's in control of his emotions when he does do something bad on the mound, there's a possible Cy Young in his future. The kid is good and I'd hate to let someone else get what Bud is building in him.

Escobar is in the last year of his contract. After this season he is a FA. He was signed to a 3 year deal in 2004, so he pitched 2004, 2005 and this year 2006 will be the 3rd and final year of his contract.

They need to go after either or both Escobar or Lackey, depending on how they perform. With only two guys on the staff for sure in 2007, they will have to sign at least 2 SP from free agency, and then fill the #5 spot with Jered Weaver or Joe Saunders. 2007 could be expensive.

It will be very interesting to see what pitchers get this offseason seeing how this class is 10x better than last year's.

Here's one move that wasn't brought up:

Trade Arte Moreno for the Anaheim Angels name back. Anyone?
