I really don't think so.
There is no greater "national" rivalry, thats for sure!

Army/Navy

I hate to break it to you, but nobody outside of California really gives a crap about anything on the West Coast other than the Lakers and porn stars.

ahh the East Coast bias that doesn't really exist ;-)

I couldn't tell you the name of one player on Army/Navy. People watch USC because the players are supremely talented and shape the next level.

Keneche Udeze, Keary Colbert, Will Poole, Carson Palmer, Troy Polamalu, Mike Williams, Mike Patterson, Shaun Cody, and Lofa Tatupu are players that have been drafted in the last three years out of USC and have significant playing time or were picked in the first two rounds.

Next draft, Leinart and Bush will go 1-2...I'm almost certain of that. Jarrett will probably also go in the first and maybe a few others that I cannot remember at this point.

In fact, the team has been so supremely talented that its backup QB, Matt Cassel, was drafted by the Super Bowl champions of 3 of the last 4 years. He only threw 14 passes last season. That's how good the school is at football.

Don't tell me you didn't like to watch the Rice Owls pitch last season (two seasons ago?) because if you are a remote college baseball fan, they gave you a hard-on.

The bottom line: if you don't like watching USC football, don't call yourself a college football fan.

Defiantly ;-D , where I live you HAVE to be a Ohio State fan or Michigan fan

thats not a national rivalry ..
thats a local rivalry.

People who don't live within that area could honestly give a care.

USC vs. Notre Dame!!

I can't name one player on Notre Dame's team and only 3 on USC :-?

If I watched college football to see a AAA NFL team I would watch Miami. I don't specifically watch Miami, FSU, UF, USC, or any team because they are loaded with NFL talent. Other than perhaps Vick when he was at VTech or Marshall when he was at SDSU I don't remember ever watching a team for a specific player. Its not what college football is about to me.

I'm not a remote college baseball fan, I can appreciate Owls pitching staff, but I can't stand watching the game with aluminum bats. Just like I can appreciate that USC is a good football team, but I can't really stomach watching the Arena football style of the PAC-10.

The bottom line: if you don't like watching USC football, don't call yourself a college football fan.

Thats downright silly, I could say the exact same thing about an Army/Navy game. You can't call yourself a college football fan unless you watch the intense rivalry game between these two teams.

If you don't love the Yankees, don't call yourself a baseball fan.

Boy when did you USC fans get all uppity? Its not like the Trojans have been dominating forever. Like 5 years ago they weren't as good as this. The main reason the USC/Notre Dame rivalry got huge is because Notre Dame has such a huge fanbase around the entire country.

Yeah, Miami is great at producing players. ;-7

I'll give Andre Johnson, DJ Williams, Jonathon Vilma, and Willis McGahee; they are good. But having as many first round picks go south as they have isn't a very good thing. Taylor is a criminal, Winslow is a tool, Mcdougle has been hurt both seasons and only has 2 sacks, Carey has only started 5 games out of a possible 19, William Joseph has only 32 tackles in 3 seasons...the list goes on. Antrel Rolle was drafted in the first this last year so you can't really judge him yet. Portis was the result of the Broncos running system (no touchdowns this season and his YPC is over a yard worse since coming to Washington).

If you want to watch players play well in college and rarely pan out, then Miami is the school you want to watch. ;-D

If you want to watch good football played by future stars, watch USC.

And I go to UCSB. :-°

You could say that for any school and it be true. With the amount of people going through a program in its history there will be negative people. Even though everyone and there mom knows OJ is guilty, he was found innocent.

If you look at USC over its history they are very low in the players getting into trouble. Very low.

Check out FSU if you wanna get a laugh.
