Oct. 14 The Cardinals purchased the contract of Rick Ankiel (P) StL on Friday, according to the AP. He batted a combined .259 with 21 home runs and 75 RBI in 85 games between Double-A Springfield and Class A Quad Cities.

Not bad! Can he hit the cutoff man?

Oh man... I didn't know he was playing the QC! I would have definitely driven the two hours to heckle him.
Is there anything fluffier than a cloud?
If there is, I don't want to know about it.

If he hadn't imploded, can you imagine how good the Cardinals would be right now? They're already pretty good, but he had the stuff.

21 homers and 75 RBI in 85 games. Not bad, at all.

Projects to around 40 homers and 142 RBI for a full season.

Needs to pull the avg up a bit.

Granted, this is at A level, but those are impressive numbers regardless. I don't know if he'll make it or not, but I'm pulling for him.
