Why, what's wrong with him? I think he's a good manager.

I think he's terrible too M$. :-/ I didn't like how he was constantly shuffling the lineup, mishandling his bullpen and leaving starters in beyond when they were done.

I think this situation could have been alot worse so I think I'm ok with this. The players seem to want Macha there so it's probably a good clubhouse thing.

Funny how he comes crawling back after Tracy lands the Pirates gig over him. That contract suddenly didn't seem soo bad.

Macha, Macha, Macha. Why does everything have to be about Macha.

Given the A's top down management system, does it really matter who is in the manager's chair - as long as he can get along with the players?

Macha's no genius, but he's not a total fool either. Don't forget that he played some role in turning the A's around this year in May. He may mishandle pitching somewhat, but he's done a good job overall and the players like him. I would have been interested to see a more firey manager in there just to see the effect, because sometimes I felt the A's needed some of that, but we should do just fine with Macha.
