I have a class project where a grounp of my friend will interview drunks and ask them questions about sex. I was told I needed a waiver so this is what I came up with. Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what I should add to this? They will be signing it at the bottom, along with the date and the interviewers signature. Does anyone know if I even need a waiver?
I herby understand that this interview is being conducted for educational purposes. My decision to drink tonight was not based on the fact that I would be interviewed nor was I encouraged to drink by those conducting the interview. I understand that this video will not be sold in the public but will be shown in a classroom for college credit.
If I was the drunk, I'd want something to protect me. Like:
The drunk in question will not be arrested or charged with anything for being drunk for this interview. Also, nothing said drunk says or does will be used against him in any way, including legal action. The video taken will be used in a classroom only, no one else will ever see it, and it will be destroyed after the lesson is done. It's as if this never happened.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
I think that for a signed document to be considered legal, it has be signed "of sound mind" meaning that it cannot be signed while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. There have been many more contracts than you can imagine that have been thrown out because they've been signed at the bar after quite a few rounds.
Wow, that Business Law class in college was actually good for something.

Good point. Add a line at the end that says- "I, the undersigned relinquish all claims to my girlfriend/ wife and fully allow this researcher to ravish her without repercussions this evening".
Seriously though, I'm taking a research methods course (kill me now), and we actually learned something about this. Add this line-
"I understand that participation is voluntary and that all answers will be published in aggregate form only." I think aggregate means identities will be kept anonymous.
