Interesting thoughts NSulham. It could be a very similar situation to how things played out in Houston when they had Lidge, Dotel, Wagner in the 7,8,9 slots (Boston's equivalent is Hansen, Timlin, Foulke). Relievers are always a good chip to have and if Boston likes a deal that they can get done at the deadline this upcoming year then they might dump Foulkes salary on someone else and move Timlin to closer with Hansen getting incrementally more pressure working in the 8th. If the Houston comparison continues to hold true at some point in the next 2 - 3 years Hansen will close for the sox. It's just an interesting comparison that I thought might work well in this situation.

Epstein's comments have led most to believe Hansen and Delcarmen will start in AAA with the intention that they joint he club at the midpoint.

Papelbon IS a starter and will assume the #3 spot in the rotation.

Timlin is on the verge of resigning. Foulke will be in the pen. He's owed too much money to release or trade. Myers will be in the Pen. Chad Bradford will be in the pen. Harville and Stanton were released already.
