I think that Nomar is almost into the Griffey "zone" with his injury problems. I would say that he'll probably have to sign another one year deal, just like he did last year so he can establish his stock.
Does anyone know if they're still planning to post Matsuzaka?
Everyday Eddie has an option which isn't certain to be picked up, that could be an interesting one for teams with cash to blow on short-term bullpen help.

I don't agree. I don't see Atlanta spending the $$$ for him. If Marte gets a shot that fills up the Braves OF unless Chipper goes to 1B and then LaRoche sits. Doesn't make much sense to me.

I am not so sure that option on Eddie isn't going to be picked up. They had chances to trade him this year and balked. I would find it difficult to believe that they would just let him walk now.
I bet the M's pickup Guardado's option. It is only $6.25 million. Not a bad deal for a closer. Gives them the ability not to rush Soriano back and give him time to get ready to take over the closers job. Come July they could ship Eddie off for some prospects.

I still contend that the Cards put a concerted effort into acquiring B. Giles this offseason. Giles is the best replacement for Walker.

I agree the Cards will try. But I think if SD steps up he will stay put.

i dont think atlanta even has brian on their post season FA list... with a influx of franceour, langerhans, and johnson in the outfield and marte, chipper, laroche in the infield,,, i dont see where the braves have the need for a OF when bullpen help, starting pitching, and resigning furcal should be their top needs....
