The newly deputized editor did not start a thread on this or put a link to it in the article (or turn on the flashing POV light for that matter) but he is learning on the job so I will give him a break
As for wrveres' California Rant - well done
I wonder if you pulled a muscle wiping your tears while patting yourself on the back at the same time
First of all - the games are scheduled so that people can go and see them. If they were scheduled to start at 7PM EST so that the East Coast could watch them I am sure that you would have a fit about not being able to watch your team at a reasonable hour and Californian season ticket holders would cancel their subscriptions b/c they would still be at work when the games started.
Second, why do you care whether people on the East Coast watch your games? You don't watch the AL East teams because you are at work when they play (and b/c the Jays they are never on US TV but that's a separate rant) and that should not bother East Coasters. Each year there are 2,430 scheduled regular season games. That should be enough for everyone. I will catch the odd Padres, Angels, Dodgers games on weekend afternoons or when they play out east. Good enough for me.
As for the 159 MLB players from Cali - how many hockey players ya got?
And why did you break the Canadians down by province? Put them all together in one impressive number like the Venezualans and Japanese.
btw- the one Vietnamese player is Danny Graves, freaky eh?
