Sorry to bump a slightly old thread, but Barton seems to not be playing as well as I would like in the AFL. His OBP is just above 400 and he's only hit one homer. For a prospect with his abilities, his performance has dipped him down slightly I think.
From what I can tell, he may be available at #7 in my minor league draft. I could grab him there. Or I could get Lastings Milledge. Any opinions on who I should go for or perhaps some insight as to his mediocre performance in the AFL thus far?
I believe that the A's declined their option on Hatterberg. I don't think Durazo will be there next year so they might platoon 1B/DH or use Swisher at 1st.

I own Barton in one of my leagues so I am pulling for him, but Milledge is playing so well, I think he may end up being the better player. In our draft a year ago (Feb 05), Barton went 10th and Milledge went 21st.
Here was our rundown:
King Felix, Prince Fielder, Marte, Hanley Ramirez, Adam Loewen, Cole Hamels, Justin Upton, Conor Jackson, Barton, Matt Cain, Francoeur, Hermida, Ian Stewart, Jose Guzman, Billingsley, Giarratano, Kyle Davies, Ervin Santana, Brandon Moss, Milledge.

it might be a big mistake to bank on AFL stats, the league is almost played like its an exhibition. instructional league, or spring training.. im surprised Milledge and Stewart lasted that far
