Wondering real hard about these guys. Thinking from next year on. Where would D. Wright, T. Hafner, C.Beltran, Oswalt and Carpenter go? Do they all go in the first or second round in all formats next year?
I don't think any are going in the 1st round.
Oswalt and Hafner are probably the first 2 off the board probably by the end of the 2nd round. I expect Beltran, Carp and Wright to follow in order and be gone before the end of the 4th round.
This all depends on the format of the league. I'm going with keeper 5x5. here goes:
Wright: late second - mid third
Hafner: second round
Beltran: third round
Oswalt: late third , but as an ace for a fantasy team.
Carpenter: late fourth, strong year, but everyone will be wary of a letdown. i can also see him as an ace.
Hafner second round? Really i dont think people would take a guy that can only play on your util, and numbers are inflated because of a week. I personally would not take hafner till the late 3rd or 4th. D Wright early 3rd. Beltran Late 2nd-Early 3rd depending on if you think hell return to form or not. Carpenter late 3rd-Early 4th, same with Oswalt.
The Mets will win the World Series this year.
David Wright: Mid 3rd (people like the aspect of 100/30/100/20/.300)
Travis Hafner: Early 5th (not a 1b anymore)
Carlos Beltran: Mid 2nd (due for a major comeback?)
Roy Oswalt: Early 3rd (ace of any staff he's on that doesn't have Santana or Peavy)
Chris Carpenter: Late 2nd (there will be someone who will think he'll repeat last year)
so hafner has no shot at playing 1b next season. I mean ortiz doesn't qualify at 1b in all leagues, but it doesn't stop him from being one of the first 7 picks.

If you play Yahoo Ortiz qualifies. Does Hafner drive in 140+ a year. Does he hit 40+ hr? No Chance, Ortiz owns him in every category expect for avg, which is by .05. He even owns him in sb. I think that justifies the 3 round difference.
