I had Pudge higher on my preseason draft list and he was worse than Posada. Still they were the 4th and 5th catchers overall. Kendall is the bigger bust to me. I didn't expect 10 and 20 but 0 and 8? He did worse than he did in 2001
I would say, based on the hype (in these forums, especially), these were the biggest diappointments. Some guys are obvious, but with the wood everyone sported for Morneau, I thought he should be included. Kaz Matsui was probably drafted in every league, and held on to for the first month after he had another great opening day.
Vernon Wells was hyped up to be Mr. Breakout this year, especially after it was reported that he was going to run more this year. But although he improved slightly over last year, his .269 average (keep in mind he led the AL in hits in '03) and 8 SB left owners scratching their heads.
Oh, and Estrada was easily the biggest bust at catcher this year. He was probably a top-8 catcher coming in, and now he probably won't start next year. His BA dropped over 50 points!

this is a excellent list imo.... as they are actual busts instead of being on the DL all year like a few other players(bonds, rolen).... i would have to include bret boone as UT though,,,as even though he was cut, he still sucked it up the part that he played

Yeah, I agree. I expected so much more out of Wells considering what he said in the off-season about 30 SB.

Definitely agree on Estrada .... I bought into him in pretty much every single one of my leagues. Great list overall.
I don't think players that have been on the DL all or most of the season should be included on a bust list(Bonds, Rolen, Javy), it should be players who got consistent playing time and were healthy most of the year but definitely did not live up to expectations(Beltran, Boone, Beltre)
