OK what am I missing about Swisher. 21 HR for a OF isn't that great and he hit .234. That makes Adam Dunn look like Ichiro. If you play in a OBP league he's better but I still not great.
Best case scenerio what are we looking at:
90 R, 35 HR, 100 RBI, 0 SB and .250 BA.
That's best case IMO worst case could get real ugly. Opinions?
I don't know that I ever considered him a great fantasy option for most 10-12 team, 5x5 leagues, rather he's a very good young player who means a lot more to his real team than he ever will to a fantasy squad. As for the numbers, I agree with Ryn. Depending on what the A's do this offseason those numbers could certainly change, but I like your lineup-independent numbers.
It seems he'll never be a high average guy, but this was his rookie season. If he's a little more patient next year, he'll not only cut down his k/bb ratio, he'll see a pitch he likes eventually and will more likely hit for a higher average. I doubt we'll see .300 out of him, but he could bring the average higher. The rest of the numbers sound about right to me.

I actually think that he is going to take a step back next year. The A's won't be satisfied with a .320 OBP and are going to screw him up. He was actually up to .259 in August then went into a horrible slide to finish up where he is. He is going to try to be something that he isn't and will end up in a sophomore slump.
I think his average will increase over time. It was his rookie year. He is a mini Adam Dunn.
