I've got to give Kolb credit for the win and I'm sure he's got Dontrelle Willis to thank.
I couldn't have managed my hitting any better, it was my pitching that I just had no luck with that cost me the title in the end. Picking up Adam Eaton to use on the last day and then not being able to get him onto my scoring roster due to a power cut, summed up my pitching season.
That said, there's no disgrace in finishing second in such esteemed company and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to have another crack next season.
As for the talk of too many in-active teams. The way I saw it,
Bloody Nipples was the only manager that flagged it away completely at a very early stage. Erboes and CM were still adjusting their rosters late in the season, they just weren't making WW and FA pick-ups to improve their teams.
Erboes as the 2004 inaugural winner deserves another shot of at least trying to improve his tarnished reputation.
As happened this season, Kolb should have the honour of selecting the field for 2006 with first dibs to those active managers.
