Hunter Pence or Eddy Martinez-Esteve

Postby kslates » Mon Oct 03, 2005 7:23 pm

I have both in a real deep non-redraft league where we keep the same guys every year. I am working on a trade but I have to part with one of these two, please help me pick who to send packing in the trade and who to keep.

Hunter Pence of the Astros or EME of the Giants.

Thanks

I don't know much about Pence but I do know that Esteve is just a beast. The Giants absolutely love this guy, and he is supposedly ready to hit major league pitching, they are just having problems finding him a position to play since he had arm surgery. Either way he projects to be a very good ballplayer, I'd hold onto him if I could.

I like EME better. He has a better approach at the plate and have heard reports that he could be the next Manny as far as a hitter, but also as far as the ding dongedness.

EME is the better prospect right now. He has played better at High A and defiantly has the better plate discipline/bat. He is the safer bet to make it to the pros, but IMO he doesn't have a big upside. EME should hit .300 and throw in 20 HR, but for an OF that's pretty average (in no way at all is he even close to Manny).
