I have to think if the Braves and Cubs have similar offers Furcal stays in Atlanta.

i think the Cubs will outbid the Braves for Furcal for two reasons. the Braves have Betemit ready to go, and the Cubs have more money to spend than the Braves do, since they are in need of a closer as well

Bob Howry is officially a Cub at 3yr/$12M ( http://www.cubs.com ), and supposedly Mabry should be official within the week at 1yr/$1M

theres talks about dealing Walker for Milton Bradley, who would be a much better pickup than Pierre

the Braves and Devil Rays have talked at least twice about Lugo according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

i take this as a good sign for Furcal landing in Chicago

According to reports, the Atlanta Journal-Consitiution thinks that raffy furcal is leaning towards the cubs! ;-D :-) , i hope this doesnt jinx our chance of getting him.

he has narrowed it down to the braves, dodgers, and cubs

also his agent said that he's likely to make his decision by this monday.

say your prayers, and hope hendry can pull him in!!!!!!!!

By the way, Can you guys see my sig?

Did anyone see the rumor about the Cubs talking to Texas about dealing Walker, Williams, and Cedeno for Soriano and Mench? Not sure how realistic this is but I'd take it.

i wouldnt

Soriano is about as overrated as they come, and one of the few players in the league that is worse defensively than Walker. assuming Murton and Corey are in left and center, Mench is not enough production in right

Williams will likely be our 5th starter, and im really big on Cedeno going into this season.

id really like to see a Williams + ML bullpen arm (Novoa/Wellemeyer/Wuertz) + young prospect (Nolasco/Pinto/Ryu) for Adam Dunn deal. i could handle Rusch being back in the rotation with Dunn in right and batting between Lee and Aramis

The Cubs need to go after Damon or Pierre to hit leadoff. Normally I would say Cedeno at SS but Baker usually won't play the youngsters. For the Cubs sake it better not be Neifi.
