When will the Cubs start winning!!!

Postby LongBallMan23 » Mon Sep 26, 2005 9:21 pm

I have been waiting a long time now for the Cubs to get back into the post-season. They finally did and were 5 outs away from thw WS and it all colapsed!

I dont really see whats wrong other than their bullpen. They had one of the best pitching staff and i think they still do. They brought in Nomar but he hasnt helped other than cheering from the bench with something pulled. THey have young pitchers in wood, prior, brano, and williams.

Patterson has just been terriable. Once you think he will turn it around he doesnt and falls on his butt in the outfield or strikes out looking. Im not sure what they should do. Maybe trade Wood for a good hitter.

D-Lee can't do all the hitting for the team. Now that Aramis is hurt they need better hitting!

I just want for my cubs to be above .500 ;-) and at least make the post season!

GO CUBS!

Apparently Henry doesn't see anything wrong with it and until he addresses the issue it will continue to plague the Cubs. The other big need they have is for a leadoff man.

The need to

1. get someone to hit in the leaoff position - perhaps murton.
2. Sign Walker and leave him in the #2 hole.
3. get Aram healthy
4. Sign Nomar to a reasonable contract and play him at SS.
5. find a deep hole for Perez and drop him on baker.
6. having Bunritz hitting in #6 won't kill you
7. some effective & cheap bullpen help

The basic pieces seem to be there - they just haven't been able to get them together.

I don't see Nomar playing short for many teams anymore. Maybe a move to 1B would be good for him.

I think they'd win if they let goats back into Wrigley. ;-D

Or maybe they need a midget friend. Hey, it worked for the Red Sox! :-D
