League winners - first 5 picks?

Postby Steve-o » Mon Sep 26, 2005 12:53 am

I was lucky enough to take the H2H championships in my Sportsline league this weekend. I emphasize lucky, because I think I had a horrible draft. BTW, its a 12 team money league with about $1500 in payouts, so it was fairly competitive. I was wondering what other league winners first five picks were.

Here's mine:
1 - RJ
2 - Schilling
3 - Beltre
4 - Gagne
5 - Delgado

(IRod, Renteria, K. Wood, S. Green and A. Jones were the next 5)

All I have to say is, THANK YOU CAFE! :-D

Thanks, but I took home a $600+ check when the games ended today. Officially won it.

Lance Berkman (rd 15) and Travis Hafner (rd 12) were a big part of getting through the playoffs. Between those two guys and Delgado they were 45% of my points in the championship game.

I'm in first in my money league (only 8 teams). And with a few exceptions my first picks were not good... Beltran, RJ, MCab (exception), Thome, Mike Young (exception), Ollie. I was in last place in late May, and 6th or 7th at the ASB.

But then I managed to pull trades off for Johan, ARam, Tex, and Sheets. That helped (understatement of the year). Not to mention grabbing Berkman late and FA pickups like J. Patterson, Utley, Cantu, Sizemore, and Peralta. ;-D

Congrats on your win! Hopefully I'm joining you in a week! ;-D

well, i'm up 9-1 and i feel confident enough to say i'll win. i'll go ahead and give my first 10:

helton
schmidt
sheets
sheffield
c. lee
halladay
hudson (turned in to o. perez with trades)
dotel
k. matsui
mussina

so lets see, that's two(?) guys who ended up playing the majority of the year at their expected level?

good thing i took burrell, millwood, colon, vazquez, and ramon hernandez later. ;-D

Wow...how the hell did you survive with that draft? That is insane. Nice job keeping that baby duct-taped together.

I would list my picks, but I didn't win any leagues. Yay. !+)
