Man, I'm going to really miss Bernie. I really hope he stays with the Yanks next year even if his role is as a part time player. He jsut doesn't fit or look right playing anywhere else. Unfortunately though, Scott Boras (agent thug), represents Bernie.

As much of a Bernie fan as I am, I really hope he just retires. It'll be time to give K Thompson a chance. ;-D

I think its best for Bernie to retire. I love him and hope to see his number retired as he's a real epitome of what it is to be a Yankee. Another season further in the decline under media whining just isn't the way to go out, nor is a season with another team.

Its time to pass the torch, hopefully to Thompson. ;-D

Thanks for everything Bernie and I can't wait to see you make more memories in this year's postseason ;-D

You guys wouldn't be happy seeing Bernie taking over Ruben's role. I think he has accepted his place on the team now and could make the transition to stay with the team he loves.

Maybe I am naive but I don't see Bernie jumping to another team for a couple of million bucks. If the Yanks make a fair offer for someone of Bernie's age and playing level I think he would stay. Maybe the promise of a starting job could sway him, but I don't see that happening.

If the Yanks go on to win the championship I think there is no way he should come back. Going out on top puts an exclamation point on the end of his career.

No doubt if they win he should retire.

If he comes back, it'd have to be to DH only. They can't make him the regular or even platoon CF again.

I want to see Kevin Thompson get a shot.
