Carpenter was hands down my best SP this season. He had only 2 bad starts before this recent string of ineffectiveness.
Has anyone watched his last few starts? What's different? Is he shot or just not trying? I'm afraid to use him again this week. I'm thinking of tossing him to the curb and using his roster spot for spot starting SPs. What to do, what to do?

He was pitching over his head.

For the whole season?
Last year he was pitching well until injury hit.

Look at his splits. His ridiculous run was from June to August.

And Johans ridiculous run was from June to September. Carpenter is still very good. You don't pitch over your head for an entire season. He is just struggling as of right now.

I'm looking at his spilts. He didn't let up more than 3 earned runs from May 12 through Sept 8. I'd pretty much call that the whole season.
Anyway, that was then and this is now. Now is the last week of the fantasy finals. I just want to know if anyone has faith in his next and last start of the season.

Anyway point is, of course pitchers can pitch over there heads for a whole season. There's also a lot more examples than just these 3. Plus Carp it hasn't even bee the whole season for Carp, it's been more like 4 months, since his September has sucked and he wasn't that great in April.
