Sexson is a great choice for comeback player of the year. He only played like 15 games last season before injuring his shoulder on a checked swing, and he's had a monster season for the M's. The only thing missing is a decent average.

My second choice would be Giambi. He sucked those first few months but he's been the opposite of suck since then :-°

I'd vote for Sexson.
Maybe Giambi deserves it, but I'd rather not see him win it as it's bad for baseball at this time.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

Just b/c he didn't start heating up until July doesn't mean you can discount his production.

Carpenter didn't start pitching great until June. Does that mean he doesn't deserve the Cy?

I agree, Sexson has been extremely underrated this year fantasy wise because of him being injured last year, I mean he wasn't reall ytaken in drafts until the 7th or 8th round. He was a late 4th early 5th round pick before 04 when he got injured.

Because Halladay hasn't pitched in over two months. Otherwise, he would have been the no-brainer choice for Comeback Player (not to mention Cy). Halladay got hurt, came back and then got hurt again. Giambi, on the other hand, is still playing, and still contributing. If anything, Gambi's early struggles make his comeback more impressive. It was a "midseason comeback." ;-D

I'd also take Sexson over Wickman for Comeback Player.

I agree as well, Halladay can't win Comeback Player of the Year this year.

I'd give it to Sexson or Giambi, just because of everything he has come back from.

If MLB has anything to do with the voting (and something tells me they do), I would be floored if they were to give it to, Giambi, an admitted cheater. Ethics and sob stories aside, in coming months the steriod issue is going back in front of Congress, Palmy may be charged with perjury, MLB will likely call for stiffer penalties.

"Steriod User Wins Comeback Player of the Year" is not a headline MLB wants to see. Hard to think of a more destructive and contrary statement.

Cancer?

A benign tumor isn't cancer... if it was malignant, sure, but it wasn't.

Lee? He's 19th in the AL in era, at nearly 4.
His 15 QS are far behind Santanas AL best 22.
Lee ranks 4th in run support (6.73/9), hence the misleading record.

Lee isn't close, at least 8 better.

Giambi for comeback, or Sexson. Closers just don't play enough for me to give it to them over a everyday guy.
