And Hafner for AL MVP.
And Aaron Boone for Comeback Player of the Year.
And Wickman for that Rolaids Relief Man of Year too!

That is all.

Over Giambi?
Yes. Wickman has been doing it all year. Where was Giambi the first 3 months of the season?

I don't know. I'd rather give Comeback of the Year to an everyday player like Sexson than Wickman. Maybe they should share it.

Cliff Lee for AL CY?? He just got bombed. At the moment, it'll probably go to Colon although Santana should be right up there.

Hafner for MVP? You're kidding, right? Why not Ortiz then? I'd give it to ARod mostly because Ortiz is just a DH while ARod plays a good 3B. Hafner didn't even play as many games as the other two and will even lose his 1B eligibility for much of next year since he missed all/most of the interleague games where he gets his eligibility.

Cancer, Parasites, steroids, I really don't care what caused him to suck last year. I just have a problem giving the comeback player of the year award to some that didn't really comeback until July. If you are going to reward a player for only coming back and being great for part of the year why not give it to Halladay?

Because Halladay hasn't pitched in over two months. Otherwise, he would have been the no-brainer choice for Comeback Player (not to mention Cy). Halladay got hurt, came back and then got hurt again. Giambi, on the other hand, is still playing, and still contributing. If anything, Gambi's early struggles make his comeback more impressive. It was a "midseason comeback." ;-D

I'd also take Sexson over Wickman for Comeback Player.

I really can't see how it couldn't go to Giambi.

The man played in only 80 games due to a tumor, parasites, poor vision and a hurting knee and hit .208 with a .354 OBP and now leads the AL in OBP with 30 HR. If you've read some of the stories about how sick he was all of last year, heard Torre talk about how there was nothing in his eyes, its truly amazing how incredible his comeback has been.

Halladay probably would have won, but he got hurt again so I can't see it going to a guy missing so much of the year.
