Haren may soon sign 4-year deal with A's

Oakland gives guys deals pre-arbitration, and buys out the arbitration process, hoping players will trade the potential to make loads of cash for fiscal security... sometimes they also try to sign through a year or two of free agency... they did it with Zito, Mulder, Hudson, Terrence Long (ouch!) and some other young players... I'm not sure if Chavez had gone through arbitration yet or not... and would this have been Haren's first year of arbitration?

Things are looking good for the A's. Zito, Harden and Haren locked up for a while. They're definitely looking to build a good core for the future and this is the way to do it. The A's future looks bright...
