Rotoworld:
According to WEEI 850 in Boston, Keith Foulke is shutting it down for the season due to physical issues.
WEEI reports he has also already left the team. The Red Sox may attempt to trade him this winter, although his value is so diminshed at this point that it probably wouldn't be worth it. Foulke is certainly capable of bouncing back, but he needs to get his knee issues taken care of once and for all. Sep. 22 - 2:04 pm et
I must say I'm pretty surprised. Timlin's job is safe then.

I was pretty much expecting him to come back and be effective. That's rough.

Very odd year for Foulke. Was really in position to have a great year, than mysterious injuries. Tough on Boston, who would have a sizeable lead in the East if Foulke had been his usual self in the closer role.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

I wish but I dont think Terry has the balls for using a rookie closer. He definately should be the closer though. He has the talent.

I like Hansen and I followed him a little bit at St. Johns since he's somewhat of a local kid but I can NOT WAIT to see this kid in a big spot with 2 weeks of ML experience against the Yanks out there shaking like a leaf... Seeya Boston. Seeya.
