He probably could win it and maybe should, however wins sadly carry a ton of weight. Not talking 1 or 2 wins either, Colon should finish a half dozen ahead of Johan and also will probably be on a playoff team.
It would be pretty impressive for Johan to rack up #2 at this age and experience.
At this point, it sure looks like Colon will win it as he'll likely be the only 20-game winner in the AL and might very well keep his 3-W lead. His 3.34 ERA is not too bad compared to the competition.
between colon and santana imo... colons wins verse santanas overall numbers,,, very same situation to the NL of clemens and carpenter.... i think wins(carp and colon) will probably win out in both situations though.....

I have to agree. Voters won't go for Santana with only 14 wins.
I'm glad that the talk of giving it to Mariano have died out and those scrubs in Chicago have come back to earth.
It's a sad state of affairs in the AL.
Whoever said that pitching wins should just look at the AL East. The Yankees and Red Sox have two of the worst staffs to ever compete for a playoff spot and the Red Sox's bullpen is a joke. It's all about hitting these days. Give A-Rod the MVP and Big Papi the Cy Young. No pitcher in the AL deserves it.
