Agreed and that's why I don't see his future there. Kazmir might not be a bad future closer, though. ;-7

I wouldn't be so sure. Turnbow has managed to succeed, and I'd say his control has been as bad or probably worse than Zambrano's in the past.

Worse?? Turnbow had 60 IP of career work before this season. Zambrano had about 500. We know what Zambrano is. The jury is still out on Turnbow. I hold more stock in his 2005 season.

In the minor leagues:

Turnbow - 425.0 IP, 3.81 BB/9, 2.02 K/BB
Zambrano - 315.2 IP, 3.39 BB/9, 2.81 K/BB

So, yes, I think it can be worse. ;-)

The Mets also have Royce Ring as a potential future closer.

Yates is still on the DL as far as I know.

Ring has been pretty sad, but it's still a possibility. Young pitchers can be pretty fickle.

Lol, was that sarcasm? I think he meant to say "shot"...I and O are right next to each other and he probably pressed the I by mistake.

Anyway, this late in the season, unless you have very high upside for picking up more saves (for roto, i.e. at least two very close to you in saves...for H2H, consider how many closers you have vs. your opponents), I would hold off. There is too much potential for him to wreck your ERA and WHIP.

I agree with what others have been saying on Zambrano vs. Turnbow (nice joke, Lo ;-D). In addition, TUrnbow has even more ticks on his fastball.
