NYM closing situation

Postby vladrules » Sat Sep 17, 2005 1:49 pm

From Rotoworld:

Manager Willie Randolph indicated that he will no longer use Braden Looper exclusively to close games.
Now that the Mets are out of the race, Randolph wants to mix and match with his relievers. That might mean Roberto Hernandez will get a couple of save opps. Still, Looper is the Mets' best choice when the club is due to face primarily right-handed hitters in the ninth. Sep. 17 - 9:47 am et

Looking for all the Saves i can get. Plus need to lower my ratios so employing as many RP as i can. Aside from RHernandez, who else is in the mix. Could SP/RP Heilman be used as a CL bc he's been lights out recently? Seems like he's too valuable as "the bridge" from SP to CL. What about Mr. Zero?

I actually see Takatsu getting a shot. I think he'll blow horribly but I think they will find a way to give him another shot.

Send us your shell shocked, homerun prone, high ERA, high WHIP, no strikeout ex-closers to New York. Willie will use them

looks like VZambrano is pitching in the 8th inning in 2-2 game vs FLA tonight. Any official word if CL is RHernandez or Heilman. Both have been good.
