Magic: The Gathering hurricane Katrina cards

Postby RugbyD » Fri Sep 16, 2005 3:32 pm

I don't know squat about the game, but I understand enough to get the jokes. I'm sure there's at least one uber-nerd here who will fully appreciate the humor borne out of this disaster.

There are lots of cards, but its an equal-opporiunity offender, it just takes a while to get through each group.

It's disturbing that a religious leader would claim that Hurricane Katrina was a good thing because it has eliminated abortion and Mardi Gras from the city.

Not surprising at all, but disturbing nonetheless.

Speaking as a pastor it's frustrating when a small group of idiots think they can speak for an entire group of people. Trust me, so called Christians who feel like Katrina was a good thing do not speak for the rest of us. As for me and my church, we've sent 4 trailor loads down and donated over $6,000 and we're still gathering more. We have nothing but compassion for the victims of Katrina as does 99.999999% of other Christians.

Chad, I know there's a big difference between educated christians and the fundamentalist evangelical right.

If it were up to me, there'd be a whole lot more separation of church and state around here.

But, no politics.

If I had named this thread, I would have called it "Tragic: The Gathering."

Some good ones in there. Some stinkers too, but not too bad on the overall. :-D

Those people were at W's 2004 inauguration too, carrying exactly the same signs as the girl on that card (only change "Katrina" to "9/11"). Disgusting. I hope Falwell gets hit by a bus.

Someone spent a loooong time putting this page together. I don't really get Magic Cards, but some of these are hysterical. ;-D
